With the announcement of Lync Server 2010 we have at Microsoft great expectations to the future of Unified Communications. Regardless of size, many Danish enter-
prises have already chosen Lync Server 2010 as their platform for real time communication, including corporate telephony. 

As a supplement to the many functions in Lync Server 2010 it is of significance that there is a large selection of applications from Microsoft’s partners for the customers to gain the maximum benefit of the total solution. In particular, many Scandinavian customers want a feature rich attendant console function to Lync Server, which can appropriately support their requirements to customer and partner service.

A really good example of a specific solution that supports the functionality of the total solution is the attendant console, ZyCall Switch from Zylinc. The combination of ZyCall Switch and Lync Server provides full access for the attendant console operator to employee presence indication and calendar availability. In this way the attendant console operator has the best possible foundation for providing an excellent service to customers calling the enterprise. We are particularly pleased that Zylinc employs the integrated API (UCMA) as core technology in the solution. UCMA enables the opportunity for developing function rich and robust add-on modules to the Lync Server 2010 platform.
