Set up e-mail server for Web Agent messages

This information is primarily for administrators and/or people who manage Zylinc solutions

In the Web Agent, users can send e-mail or text messages to people in order to make them contact someone else.

Example: Please call Paul (123456) from the city council regarding garbage collection.

To make it possible for Web Agent users to send such messages via e-mail, you need to specify some e-mail server settings:

  1. Log in to your Novus Configuration Manager, and, in the E-mail and SMS messaging section, select E-mail server settings.

  2. Specify the following:

In the following, we'll look at how to use an Office 365 e-mail account to send e-mail messages from. To use another SMTP server, change the fields Server address, Server port, and SSL as required.

    • Default sender: The e-mail address to use if no other e-mail address is provided when agents send e-mail messages.

      Example: phonemessage@example.org

    • Server address: IP address or hostname of the SMTP e-mail server.

      Example: smtp.office365.com

    • Server port: The SMTP e-mail server port number to use, typically 587.

    • User name (e-mail address) and Password of the account that you want to send e-mail messages from. Make sure to use an account that can send e-mails on behalf of the agents.

    • Make sure that Enable SSL is selected.

  3. Click Save.
